Clash of the Titans

One strength rising up against the other.

From outward appearances the jetty’s strength
retains the oceans waters.
Placed strategically by man to control
and manipulate her flow.

He stands solid
as the waves continue their pounding.

A question arises;
is he stronger because of his design and structure?
Or is it simply because the ocean allows it to be?

The ocean is
flexible and forgiving.
Accepting
of often vile and grotesque things.

Yet such beauty
she creates.
She bends her will
for the sake of all others.

She is where life began
at her choosing
she is where life ends.

Try as man may
to give her structure and boundaries,
it is only by mutual agreement
he maintain the pretense;
he is alpha.

All parties quietly understanding,
given the desire,
her power can destroy nations.
