Sentimental nostalgia
within the pages turned.
Lay the beauty and gold
for which my soul has yearned.
Player, lover, ladies man
are what your eyes may see.
Within the pages turned
a deeper man is he.
Though he shines a light so bright
everywhere he goes.
Within the pages turned,
a roaring fire glows.
His heart he opens to all,
and with all he openly shares.
Within the pages turned
it's his soul he lays to bare.
Honor that I've been selected
not only to bask in his daily light.
But also within the pages turned,
witness his soul take flight.

Periphery
I live in the shadow
of your busy life
For there is no room
To bask In your light
Kept in secret
Hidden from sight
It’s not wrong
yet doesn’t feel right
I ponder the timing
and universe’s plan,
for which I admit
I’m not a fan
So I settle
to exist in your
periphery
Sentenced to wonder
will your light ever
shine upon me?

Putrid Waters
In the silent darkness
of this desolate space
within a dwelling where
I do not belong,
the putrid waters
of fear and doubt
seep in to drown and suffocate
my perplexed mind.
So once again I protect my heart
within the stone walls of my
newly erected tower
centered in the mote
of the toxic and deep waters of my mind.
Safe and alone once more
daring a shiny armored prince
attempted access.

Discovered Gold
His passions flame,
ignites my soul.
Our minds meet;
blazes out of control.
Hearts on fire,
in a world once so cold.
Stumbled through the others darkness,
and discovered our gold.
ignites my soul.
Our minds meet;
blazes out of control.
Hearts on fire,
in a world once so cold.
Stumbled through the others darkness,
and discovered our gold.

Love Crime
Guilt is tossed
Mine, then yours, then once again mine.
We’re both the perpetrator
Falling in love was our crime.
The games that played,
To power, control and manipulate
Left us both the losers
Without our soul’s mate.
We’ve now discovered our way
To soothe the ache in our hearts, our heads
Yours in smoke and the bottle
Mine, another mans bed.

A Marvelous Catastrophe
I suppose it is good that we only remember the fondest parts of relationships once they end.
In this moment I am grateful to have once felt the type of love that moves mountains and makes the ocean roll. An indescribable happiness and passion.
Beautiful and grotesque, joy beyond measure, pain without excape.
Dreams and hopes, night mares and disappointments.
A marvelous catastrophe.

Me.... Freed
His blue eyes
are the mirror in which I see me.
His sanctuary
is where I can be me.
In his words
I can express me.
On his wings
I have freed me.
are the mirror in which I see me.
His sanctuary
is where I can be me.
In his words
I can express me.
On his wings
I have freed me.

Clash of the Titans
One strength rising up against the other.
From outward appearances the jetty’s strength
retains the oceans waters.
Placed strategically by man to control
and manipulate her flow.
He stands solid
as the waves continue their pounding.
A question arises;
is he stronger because of his design and structure?
Or is it simply because the ocean allows it to be?
The ocean is
flexible and forgiving.
Accepting
of often vile and grotesque things.
Yet such beauty
she creates.
She bends her will
for the sake of all others.
She is where life began
at her choosing
she is where life ends.
Try as man may
to give her structure and boundaries,
it is only by mutual agreement
he maintain the pretense;
he is alpha.
All parties quietly understanding,
given the desire,
her power can destroy nations.
